Yesterday's service was amazing! I am so glad to have the freedom to gather with Christian friends and family every week. Don Piper, author of 90 Minuets in Heaven, came as a special quest and shared his amazing testimony of his DEATH and how God performed a miracle- not only in reviving him, but recovering his destroyed body. There was something in particular that Don shared with the congregation that has left me questioning the depth of my testimony over the past 24 hours. While Don was actually dead- yes no heart beat, he was prnounced dead at the scene of his accident for 90 Minuets- he shared with us what he saw while in Heaven. For more details you really should read his book, but he shared with us 3 common factors about those individuals that greeted him at the pearly gates. As a side note- the gates are pearly just as stated in scripture and the streets are made of gold! 1) He realized that the group of people that were there to greet him had made a commitment sometime in their lives- to say Yes to God and no to Satan, they accepted Christ for who and what he was, is,and will always be- that is the ONLY reason they were able to be there to meet him as he entered into Heaven. 2) Don realized that all the people that were there to greet him were perfect in every way. Even his grandfather who had dies a wrinkly old man, was there- he had left his old body behind and was given a new perfect body by Christ to spend eternity in. The 3rd thing that Don thought when he was greeted by specific individuals- all of which he knew personally- was that every last person that was there to meet him- had some kind of influence on him getting to Heaven. Family, Friends, an elderly lady that took him to church as a child, Sunday school teachers....
Don concluded his testimony yesterday with a questuion, who will you, I, be greeting at the pearly gates?
So I wander- who will I greet at the pearly gates?

wow, it really was an amazing service, wasn't it? Just made me so excited to just go on to heaven right now!!! :) But then also made my heart break for those who are not sure of their eternity- the hopelessness and despair they must feel... I guess that's why we can't go yet!
