Me and Travis were going to wait to share our bittersweet news for a few more weeks, but that waiting bit is not all it's cracked up to be. We have come to a FINAL
decision that we are not going to proceed with any more fertility treatments. There are many options that we considered before coming to this decision. Basically what it comes down to is...we want so desperately to have a baby and because of my crazy medical complications and our frustration of getting no where with the different types of fertility treatments, we have chosen the option of adoption. The reason we wanted to wait and really tell our friends and family was only
because we have kinda been on a
roller coaster when it comes the decisions we have made in the past...natural..adoption..natural + fertility...adoption...just natural no fertility...adoption...we finally have an amazing peace (most days..I still have some "bad baby days") about adopting a baby. We have registered (but not yet been accepted) with Generations Adoptions. This is a really small (they only take between 10-15 couples per year) private agency out of the Waco area. We have tried really hard to be patient over the past 2 1/2 years through the process of trying to conceive, but we are not quite there yet. This application process is very
thorough and complex. There are 4 different approval process that each couple must complete prior to even being considered as parents by the birth moms.
Some things about Generations:
* A requirement of Generations is that you and your spouse are Christians and active within a Christ believing church.
*Most babies are results of teenage moms that have chosen LIFE over abortion
*Most babies are infants when the Adoptive parents get to take their baby home
*Generations promote Open-Adoptions...we will meet the birth mom and most likely get to attend Dr's appts (ultrasounds, the actual birth,..etc)
* The average time placement is between 6-9 months from the final approval date
More info to come we would just like to get through the 1st approval before sharing too much.
