We are so blessed

Part 1: The Annual Deer Lease Trip

This year was a little different for us all. Rather than being the 4 of us, there was 5! It was so fun to have Luke with us at the lease, and I do not think Chris could have been happier. He had a smile on his face the whole time. The guys have always talked and dreamed about having boys (or girls) of their own to bring to the lease. Hopefully next year we will have a little one or two or three to bring along with Travis and I. Luke was a trooper. We headed to town and shopped one afternoon and the next day while Nichole and me went to the Peddler show, Luke went hunting with Travis and Daddy. Chris shot a buck this weekend and Travis got a doe. We had a great trip as always, only one thing still missing.

Part 2: Thanksgiving
We started a really good tradition about 4 years ago. Since we have split families, we now do the Peterson Thanksgiving on Wednesday night and the Farris Thanksgiving on Thursday afternoon. It works so good and this allows us to not have to rush! At the Peterson Thanksgiving, we have really turned into a crowd. Although Trav does not have a large family, we make it big. In fact all of my siblings and their children, Nichole's brother, Kyle's girlfriend, Mom and Terry all come to give thanks with us. I love it, I look forward to this night months before it arrives. I love having the company of Trav's family and mine, all together. This was also the very first time we have had our nephews and our niece together at the same time. We really are a super blessed couple! The Farris Thanksgiving seems to be getting smaller although my immediate family seems to only be growing. I guess that is one of the harder things to face during the Holidays, so much of my family is getting older. Regardless, we still had a great time together and even found the energy to go back to Mom Mom's after we ate.

Part 3: Travis turns 26

On Saturday we had friends and family over to celebrate Trav's 26th Birthday! It was great although we missed a few important people who were not able to attend. The boys played soccer outside, while the girls enjoyed getting to catch up on everything. We love having everyone over, too bad it does not happen near as often as we would love to!

Part 4: The Phillips Family came to Visit
We were the chosen family for this trip. On Friday night Andrew, Carol, Landon, and Owen arrived to our house! We got to spend time with them over the next week. It was so good to have them here and even though we had to work the first part of Thanksgiving week, it was so good to come home to them. We spent most of our nights cooking and then clean up was followed by a game of Sorry! It was really so good to see all 4 of them and we cannot wait for them to move back home!
