"Give thanks to the LORD and proclaim his greatness. Let the whole world know what he has done."
Travis and I are so thankful for what God is doing in our lives and so excited to see what He has in store for our family. Although we have been on one heck of a roller coaster that seems to have no end, it amazes us how faithful God is in holding to His promises, to provide. Generations Adoption, the adoption agency that we are registered with, is so wonderful. After we registered, the first stumbling block came right away...there is a Saturday class that is mandatory for all families before the homestudy can be complete, which must be done before you can be considered as an adoptive family. The June class was full and so we were scheduled for the next class...in October, yuck! We were so disappointed, thankfully God had a plan separate from what we originally expected based on what the agency told us, a couple dropped from the June class and that left an opening for Travis and I! We first visited the agency in early April, we went over the policies and procedures and had the chance to meet one of the directors face to face. After going to Waco, we quickly started preparing for our homestudy (this is when the director will come out to our home and "interview" us). Well, we are as ready as we can be! Our baby room is finished and our scrapbook to give our birthmom is so close to being complete...needing just a few more pictures, and we have spent many hours discussing our opportunity to adopt. We will be headed to Waco this Saturday for our Homestudy Prep Class and then the agency will be coming to our home July 1st to conduct the homestudy. From that point, the agency will write a report on their conclusions drawn from the study and the board will have a final approval meeting before we can be considered as adoptive parents.
We will keep you guys posted on what we can expect next...
