After we finished eating Travis had another surprise, we headed to Glaveston and stayed the night at the San Luis Resort. I have always wanted to stay there, and it was perfect. When we got there, the girl upgraded us to a corner room on the 14th floor. It was great! The rooms were super nice and our view was the ocean and a really nice heated pool, hot tub and a bar area. It was crazy to think that a few months ago that a storm destroyed so much of this town, this hotel actually housed the news reporters during the storm and they had no damaged! It really was ironic to see most of the newer buildings and structures standing as if nothing had happened and then older ones were totally gone or totally destroyed.
We woke up Saturday to a beautiful sun rise! God is amazing in the way that He reveals Himself to us when we are struggling.
No, we did not make the bed...what is a get-away for if you have to do your chores?

It was very windy! Since I did not pack overnight bag...just some clothes, it was pretty interesting trying to tame this mop! But I promise it really was not sticking straight up...it was just really windy!
I just thought this was a really neat picture, there was a guy standing on (what was left) of this pier. It just looked peaceful watching him. We would have gone down and done the same thing, but it was way too cool and we did not bring jackets.
This was one of the shops that WAS on Stewart's Beach, one place that Travis and me came to when were still in high school.
And here is what remains of the Ol' Flagship hotel. Honestly, I am not sure how there is this much left standing. Both the entrance and exit bridges that lead to this hotel are no longer there. Well, they are there, they are just crushed down onto the ocean...it seems like the hotel has been abandoned, not sure they will rebuild.
As we were leaving to head back home, there was a random sailboat just sitting on the side of 61st street. Definitely not something I had seen before.
We had a great weekend and I am so thankful for such an amazing husband that considers me! One thing was forsure...if/when we do have kids, sporadic trips like this will be fewer and further between. We both decided that we are going to enjoy these times together while God still is preparing us for our own little one.
