This week we have offically started our fertility treatment. So what this means for us is that basically we are at the doctors office every other day. During my visits, I have bloodwork and an ultrasound, this way my progress is being monitored very closely. Today Nichole and Luke came and waited with me for all of my fertility meds to arrive at my home. We have at home shots that either Travis or I have to inject into my stomache every night for the next 8-12 nights. The reason for the 8-12 is because I may need more or less medication depending on the way my body responds to the treatment. What the shots are doing is actually making the eggs, that my body prouces natuarally, really healthy. After I have 1, 2, or at most 3 healthy eggs, then Travis will give me another type of shot that will make me ovulate...which has been the obstacle all along (not ovulating, and yes my doctors do believe that this has everything to do with the treatment and difficulties I faced during my pre-teen and teenage years).
My baseline ultrasound, which was yesterday, came back perfectly normal! YAY! We never have normal anything around our house, especially with our baby process, so that was a great way to start the treatment... with positive news! One really good thing about all of the bloodwork and ultrasounds, I get my results back right after lunch time, the same day. I love that about Houston Fertility, you get info quick! We are now starting the shots, tonight infact, and then it is just waiting for the doctor to give us the okay on the amount and healthness of the eggs. We are scheduled for our pregnancy test on December 16th. With our 4th anniversary on the 18th, I can only hope to give Travis the best gift ever...the chance at fatherhood!
Needless to say, we are excited and cannot wait to get goin' and find out if this is the month that God has planned for us to become parents! Thank you so much for all of your prayers and please remember us each day as this time is probably going to cause a little extra stress.
